This fall concert is a celebration of the November Feast Day of Saint Cecilia, patroness of music and musicians.

Cecilia supposedly sang to God "in her heart" during her wedding (!), demonstrating the role of music as a link between the earthly and the divine. Our concert selections celebrate that connection, and also caution those who fail to transcend worldly obsession: "Rulers of earth, give ear! Should you not justice know? Will God your pleading hear, while crime and cruelty grow? Then do justice; love mercy; and walk humbly with your God."

Musical offerings range from the ancient (Palestrina) to the modern (Vaughan Williams) to the contemporary (Eric Whitacre).

Tickets are $15 at the door.

We hope to see you there!

Coming this spring!

Oure Pleasure Singers has a long history of performing fresh new compositions, and this season we have plans for a premier performance of a work by our director, Nicholas Rocha.

This promises to be a deep experience: Abyssolpelagic: A Choral Odyssey.

Stay tuned for date and details. Don't miss it!

Oure Pleasure Singers began in 1983 as a small (8-member) group specializing in madrigal singing, and taking its name from a line in Thomas Morley's Sing We and Chant It: "Now is best leisure to take oure pleasure." Now an ensemble of approximately 20 singers from Attleboro, Providence, and surrounding communities, OP performs an eclectic variety of music, ranging from plainchant to jazz, and embracing both the sacred and the secular.
We rehearse on Tuesdays from 7:00-9:00 pm in downtown Attleboro, MA, 5 minutes by car from I-95 and a short walk (one half mile) from the Attleboro MBTA commuter rail station. Our season typically runs from September through May. You can listen to us on this website, or watch us on Season 4 of WGBH TV's Sing That Thing! (OP appears in episodes 5 & 7).
