Oure Director
Nicholas Rocha is a choral conductor, keyboardist, and tenor specializing in sacred and early music. Nick has worked in choral arts of the greater Providence area for the past ten years in numerous capacities. For eight years, Nick served as director of music ministry and organist at Holy Angels Church in Barrington. At present, he is the organist and director of music at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Bristol, RI, as well as a guest organist and cantor at St. Margaret’s Church in Rumford. Currently, he is involved with several local ensembles, including the Oure Pleasure Singers of Attleboro and the Bristol County Chorus as artistic director. He has also worked with the Rhode Island Civic Chorale & Orchestra (RICCO) for several years as an accompanist, and has had the pleasure of appearing occasionally as a guest conductor, piano soloist, and lecturer as well. Nick has also worked with other community ensembles, such as The Summer Chorus and the Southeastern Massachusetts Festival Choir (SMFC).
Nick holds a B.A. in music from Vassar College, and earned a master’s of music in choral conducting from The Boston Conservatory in 2017. He has studied conducting with Dr. George Case; piano with Pauline Dufour; and voice with Drew Minter, James Ruff, and Dr. Thomas Gregg.
