Nativity Carols

Another year of Caroling with Oure Pleasure!   Joined by harpist Hyunjung Choi and oboist Denise Plaza-Martin, both of the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra, Oure Pleasure performs Stephen Paulus's charming Nativity Carols.   The delightful program included music of Chatman and Distler, Spanish Carols, Spirituals, and community caroling.

2009-2010 season

Double Choir

Oure Pleasure joins Sine Nomine in presenting Ralph Vaughan Williams' Mass in G Minor for Double Choir, along with with chants, motets and anthems for the Day of Pentecost by Byrd, Gibbons, Harvey, Henning, Tallis, Thompson, Titelouze, and the world premiere of Ave Verum Corpus by John Masko (b. 1992).  Oure Pleasure was under the direction of Tim Harbold, and Sine Nomine was under the direction of Paul Cienniwa.

A Lenten Vespers from Salzburg 
Music of Biber, Bernardi, Stadlmayr, Hofer and M. Haydn

A Lenten Vespers presented by Oure Pleasure (Tim Harbold, Director), A Joyful Noyse (Martins Aldins, Director) and members of the brass ensemble of Hancock Church.  On that evening the church sanctuary was filled with the warm glow of candlelight and the grand and solemn sound of music that was heard in the Salzburg Cathedral in the 17th and 18th centuries.

Help and Hope for Haiti
An hour of music, readings, eyewitness testimony, and prayer under the auspices of the Attleboro Area Council of Churches. A free will offering was collected, with 100% of the funds donated to selected charities serving Haiti.

Sound the Bright Trumpets
Oure Pleasure combines with the Beantown Brass to present a big dose of Christmas Cheer!  Featured works included the Christmas Cantata by Daniel Pinkham and A Christmas Festival by Leroy Anderson (famous for his Boston Pops arrangements).

2008-2009 season

Requiem of Maurice Duruflé
French organist Maurice Duruflé  (1902-1986) sought perfection in his musical composition; in his lifetime he published only eleven works. Yet this small body of work is so sublime that it is enough to establish him in the pantheon of composers. OP presents this "transcendent Requiem" performed under the direction of Tim Harbold and accompanied by organist Patrick Aiken.  The program also included works of Lassus, Walton, Raminsh, Shaw and Harbold

Christmas Concert with Choirs of Second Church

New Textures in Choral Music
Joining the Wheaton College choirs as a special guest choir, OP explores novel textures in choral music of the last 20 years. The choirs create the sounds of ocean waves in Navok's "Meditations Over Shore" and the sounds of rainstorms in Whitacre's "Cloudburst." The program also includes music of Cage, Dove, Harbold and Sherck.
