Choral Director – The “Oure Pleasure” Singers
Oure Pleasure, based in Attleboro, Massachusetts for over thirty-five years, seeks a new Music Director for 2019. Oure Pleasure is an SATB group of approximately 16 auditioned singers who perform a broad repertoire of sacred and secular music, from ancient to contemporary, often a capella. Over the years we have produced four studio recordings, and several live concert recordings.
The group customarily offers three performances a year, sometimes collaborating with college or community groups. It holds two-hour rehearsals on Tuesday evenings in Attleboro, from September through May. We have the use of an outstanding Schlicker pipe organ and Steinway grand piano, in an acoustically live church sanctuary. The Director accompanies on piano for rehearsals, as necessary. Although members participate in the selection of performance music, the Director is encouraged to pursue his or her musical interests. Members provide publicity, venue arrangements and other logistical tasks.
Revenues consist of ticket sales and donations from our audience, performance fees, grants, and membership dues. Our Director receives an annual stipend of $2,000.

- Significant experience directing choral groups
- Extensive knowledge of choral repertoire
- Keyboard ability sufficient for rehearsal accompaniment
- Networking capabilities for recruitment of singers and identifying collaborative opportunities
- Desire to share the fun of music making with us ... and to share the occasional joke
